At Computex 2018 event in Taipei, ASUS’s Republic of Gamers (ROG) division has unveiled a number of new gaming products including its first Android gaming phone – the ROG Phone and a new USB Type-C headset – the ROG Delta. The phone will go on sale summer in 128GB and 512GB storage options while the headset will be available also in the summer.
ROG Phone
According to ASUS, the ROG Phone is expected to raise the bar for mobile gaming. It is powered by a binned version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor (now clocks up to 2.96GHz) and backed by a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging (charges up to 60% in 33 minutes).
The gaming smartphone sports an ultra-fast 6-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, support for HDR, 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 screen protection. It packs 8GB of RAM, up to 512GB storage (UFS 2.1) and dual front facing speakers with Smart Amp technology.
The ROG Phone has the brand’s new GameCool system which uses a copper heat spreader and 3D vapor chamber to transfer heat away from the processor and into the body. There is an optional AeroActive Cooler accessory which the phone’s surface and processor temperatures by blowing air over the back.

There are side mounted multi-purpose USB Type-C ports that supports Gigabit Ethernet over Type-C, plus HDMI and USB. Connectivity options include Gigabit LTE cellular and WiGig-certified 802.11ad 60GHz WiFi with both 2×2 MIMO and WiFi Direct.
For photography, the gaming phone has a dual rear camera setup which includes a 12MP camera (normal) plus a 8MP secondary camera (wide-angle) with 120-degree field of view and a front facing 8MP camera for selfies. The fingerprint sensor sits just below the rear cameras.
ROG Phone Accessories
The gaming smartphones has the options to choose from a number of accessories. The Mobile Desktop Dock creates a full desktop experience out of the ROG Phone when the right peripherals are connected while the TwinView Dock turns the gaming phone into a dual-screen hand-held console and also offers physical trigger buttons, dual haptic feedback engines and an auxiliary 6,000mAh battery.
Lastly, the WiGig Dock broadcast display signals from the ROG Phone to a base station that plugs into big-screen TVs using low-latency 802.11ad 60GHz Wi-Fi while the GameVice Controller turns the phone into a console with traditional gamepad joysticks and buttons.
ROG Delta USB Type-C headset
ROG’s new Delta gaming headset with USB-C connectivity is the world’s first gaming headset with circular-rainbow RGB lighting effects for unique gaming style. It features Hi-Fi grade ESS quad-DAC and 50-mm Essence drivers to deliver clearer and rich audio sounds. It works with new devices with the next-gen jack and also compatible with older devices via the Type-A adapter.
Did you mean 90Hz rather than GHz cuz it’s gonna be like 90000Hz and this technology is not possible for such a screen…
