At the Computex 2015, ASUS announced the ASUS Transformer Book T100HA; the 2-in-1 device is the successor to the ASUS Transformer Book T100TA Windows 8 device announced last year. There is no word yet on pricing but it is expected to be released by Q3 2014 in four different colour options – Aqua Blue, Rogue Pink, Silk White and Tin Grey.
The ASUS Transformer Book T100HA runs Windows 10 OS (Home or Pro) from day one and an impressive up to 12 hours of battery life depending on usage. It sports a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) WXGA display with 16:10 aspect ratio and powered by a quad-core Intel Atom CherryTrail X5 series (Intel Atom x5-Z8500) processor with Intel HD graphics.
Handling task on the device is up to 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB built-in storage space for files. In the camera segment, there is a front facing 2MP and rear facing 5MP snappers. The 2-in-1 device measures 8.45 mm thick, weighs 580 grams in size and comes with a detachable keyboard for use as a notebook when needed.
It is equipped with a micro SD card slot, micro HDMI port, USB 2.0 port, micro USB port, a single reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port made popular by the 12-inch Macbook from Apple as wel as Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. Speculating about the price, the ASUS Transformer Book T100HA shouldn’t stray much from the $350 mark.
