ASUS has listed a new convertible – the ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200 which is a strong contender to be unveiled at the CES 2016 in a couple of days time. The device listed on the company’s website is looking like a cross because it inherits the design of the ASUS VivoBook and the convertible nature of the ASUS Transformer Book Flip series.
The ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200 (TP200SA) sports a 11.6-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) WXGA display, 16:9 aspect ratio and 178-degrees wide viewing angle. It uses an aluminium alloy metal body with scratch-resistant texture, measures 297 x 201.3 x 18.45 mm in dimensions and the total weight is 1.2 kilograms.
The Flip TP200 is not an hybrid (2-in-1) so it is not detachable but it is equipped with a special hinge that allows the display rotate 360-degrees – this means it is convertible and thus, can be used in various modes – Notebook, Tablet, Stand & Tent.
Under the hood, the ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200 has the option of either the Intel Pentium Quad-Core N3700 or the Intel Celeron Dual-Core N3050 Processor with up to 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB eMMC or 128GB SSD storage space plus more can be added via the microSD card slot.
ASUS has decided to include a USB 3.1 Type-C port along with USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and micro HDMI ports. The Flip TP200 also has Bluetooth 4.1,802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, built-in speakers & microphones. There is a front VGA webcam and SonicMaster Technology handles audio output.
The ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200 runs Windows 10 (Home or Pro) along with all the key features such as Cortana & Continuum Mode; and is backed by a 38 Whrs Polymer Battery with up to 8 hours of battery life promised on a single charge. It will arrive in Dark Blue Crystal and Silver colour options.
