Asus VivoTab 8 Windows 8 Tablet to Go On Sale in October for $199

ASUS announced the pricing and availability details of its Vivotab 8 Windows 8 tablet powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom SoC. The ASUS Vivotab 8 which was shown off at the IFA 2014 is available in the U.S for a suggested retail fee of $199.

Unlike the Asus Vivotab Note 8, the Vivotab 8 sheds off the active digitizer, the stylus and the costlier $330 price tag. The Asus VivoTab 8 features a 8-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels screen resolution and wide View Angles. The device is powered by an Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space.

Other features includes – GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB, front and rear facing 2-megapixel camera. The Vivotab 8 measures 124.9 x 211.7 x 8.8 mm in dimensions, weighs 330 grams in size and runs on Windows 8.1OS  out-of-the-box. The device is also powered by a 15.2 Wh battery; which is tipped to provide a sustainable batter life of around 8 hours.
