Asus has finally released the full Asus Vivowatch specs details as well as it availability and pricing information. The company unveiled the device last month with only a handful of information. It is expected to go on sale starting this month in Taiwan for $149; 10 markets including France, Germany, UK and other European countries are next destinations for the watch.
As we already know, the Asus Vivowatch would offer 10 days of battery life which is provided by its 123mAh battery which is even smaller than the 369mAh used on the Asus Zenwatch. It sports a 128 x 128 pixels black and white touchscreen LCD display, powered by a microcontroller (no chipset) and it runs on an OS which Asus calls Kood which attest to the longer number of days the watch stays on.
It is dust and water resistant (IP67 rating); connects to smartphones and PCs via bluetooth and offers health related features including the heart rate sensor, a LED indicator which tells you how much calories you’ve burned and the Happiness Index (Asus says this feature is “an easy-to-understand rating of overall wellbeing based on your amount of exercise and sleep quality.”)
The Asus Vivowatch doesn’t support third party apps but works effectively on Android (Android 4.3 or latter) and iOS (iOS 8.1 or later) smartphones.
Looks good. The problem with these smartwatches is the logistics to bring them down to Africa, not to talk of Nigeria.
