ASUS Z012D: New Asus Zenfone with Snapdragon 618 Benchmarked

There are so many variants of the Asus Zenfone family that one lose count atimes. Anyway, it looks like the company is preparing a new Zenfone device as one with the model no – Asus Z012D has showed up on GFXBench listing recently.

Normally, Asus uses Intel processors but recently the company has been using both Intel and also ARM-based processors. The Asus Z012D packs an hexa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz with ARM Cortex-A72 CPU cores and Qualcomm Adreno 510 GPU for graphics; this SoC is no more than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 618 processor.

The device sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space out of which 24GB is available to the user. While the listing does not have the front and rear cameras stated, it however runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box.

The Asus Z012D ticks all the boxes in terms of connectivity and sensor with GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Barometer, compass, gyroscope, light sensor, pedometer and proximity but it lacks NFC. There is no picture of the device yet but we should have more details when it visits TENAA in China. 

The company is expected to unveil one or more devices at the CES 2016 event in January judging by the fact that it is the same event the company announced the Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Zoom
