ASUS has announced the Zenfone 5 Lite (A502CG), a cheaper version of the ASUS Zenfone 5 which was announced alongside the Zenfone 4, 5 and 6 at the CES in January. The Zenfone 5 Lite (A502CG) is available for a 5595 Philippine Pesos (~$124) and available in Charcoal Black, Cherry Red and Pearl White Colour options.
The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite (A502CG) packs a 5.0-inch 960 x 540 pixels IPS display with Soda Lime screen and has a pixel density of 220ppi. Under the hood is an Intel Atom Z2520 dual-core processor which clocks at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage (up to 64GB via microSD card slot).
On the rear is a 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing VGA camera. There is no support for 4G LTE but it uses 3G HSPA+, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and supports Dual-SIM functionality with Dual Standby. The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with Zen UI ontop and packs a 2500mAh battery.
Comparing the Zenfone 5 and the Zenfone 5 Lite; while the former packs a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, front 2MP camera, 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor. The latter uses Soda lime protection on its 5-inch qHD display, front VGA camera and Intel Atom Z2520 dual-core processor.
