ASUS announced its new flagships – the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip at a virtual based launch event. The duo are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5nm mobile platform paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB built-in storage space. They come pre-loaded with ZenUI 8 (based on Android 11) and support 30W fast charging on their respective 4,000mAh and 5,000mAh batteries.
The ASUS ZenFone 8 has a 5.9-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate while the ZenFone 8 Flip has a bigger 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and 200Hz touch sampling rate. The former has a dual rear camera setup (64MP + 12MP) and 12MP selfie camera while the latter has a flip camera setup (64MP + 12MP + 8MP) which enables its use as the main and selfie cameras. ASUS’ flip camera technology uses an enhanced motor module which passed up to 300,000 flips – equivalent to 100 flips per day for eight years.
