Earlier this year at the CES 2017, ASUS unveiled the camera-centric Zenfone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL). The device, which was touted as a new device entirely, has now made its way to Some Asian markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand as the ASUS Zenfone Zoom S.
The ASUS Zoom S has a dual rear camera setup which includes two Sony IMX362 sensors (12MP) with f/1.7 lens, OIS and EIS, Dual-Pixel Phase Detection, Laser AF and RAW support. Both combine to offer 2.3x loseless zoom and 12x digital zoom. The front camera is a 13MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture and Sony IMX214 sensor, and the Zoom S has 2.5x more light sensitivity than the iPhone 7 Plus.
The 7.99mm thick device features a 5.5-inch 1080p FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor; 4GB RAM, up to 128GB built-in storage space and boots Android v6.0 Marshmallow OS with ZENUI 3.0. Like most Asus devices, the fingerprint sensor is on the rear side.
The ASUS Zenfone Zoom S has a long lasting 5000mAh battery which also trounces the 2900mAh battery on the APPLE iPhone 7 Plus. Check the video below for detailed battery comparison between both devices.
