ASUS was expected to unveil new tablets in the new ZenPad series – the ASUS ZenPad 7 and ASUS ZenPad 8; both tablets are reminiscent of the company’s FonePad series of devices. The taiwanese company intents to showcase these tablets at the Computex 2015 but the specs has now popped up via a retail listing in China and the FCC in the US.
The ASUS ZenPad 7 is available in two version – the ZenPad 7 Z170C is the Wi-Fi only variant which would sell for $159 and the ZenPad 7 Z170CG is the 3G version which would sell for $181. The slate sports a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixels resolution IPS display, powered by an Intel Atom X3 paired with 1GB of RAM.
It has a front and rear camera (unspecified units); 8GB/16GB storage options, a microSD card slot, runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and available in Black and White colours for the aforementioned prices.
The Asus Zenpad 8 is also in the offering, the device has passed through the FCC in the US. It sports a 8-inch 2048 x 1536 pixels IPS display, powered by either an Intel Atom Z3560 or Intel Atom Z3450 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The rear and front camera units are unknown.
The device is expected to be available in four storage options – 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. There is also a microSD card on-board for storage expansion and it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
Both ZenPad series tablets are expected to be announced at the Computex 2015 which is scheduled to hold from June 2nd to 5th in Taipei. The company is also expected to announce the ASUS ZenWatch 2.
