Last week in a high profile unveiling at the Computex 2016 in Taiwan, ASUS announced a couple of cool new products – smartphones, hybrid PCs, home-friendly robot and others. This week, the company has quietly announced the ASUS ZenPouch – a new accessory for all fitting smartphones.
Available in Black or Yellow hue options, the ASUS ZenPouch is an easy-carry, see-through pouch made from strong nylon and transparent Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). With the IPX8 certification, It is 100% protected from rain/water, snow, sleet and can be used in virtually any weather condition.
The crystal-clear body means users can operate the phone’s touchscreen and doesn’t get in the way of taking pictures with the rear camera. It is stated to accommodate up to 5.5-inch screen sized smartphones, however, those measuring 185 x 90 x 12 mm in dimensions will fit in irrespective of the size.
The ASUS ZenPouch also has integrated hand strap or finger hook, detachable neck or shoulder strap and internal slots for holding essentials such as credit cards, emergency cash or metro pass. There are various waterproof smartphone pouches in the market but this sounds a bit different because it is coming from a well known brand. No word on pricing yet.
