AT&T and Kyocera team up on the Kyocera DuraForce XD and Kyocera DuraXE

AT&T has expanded its portfolio of rugged mobile devices with the ‎Kyocera DuraForce XD and Kyocera DuraXE. Both devices are available starting January 8th and talking about the pricing:

The DuraForce XD is as low as $14.97/month with $0 down for well-qualified with AT&T Next244 when they activate it on qualified service & also available for $49.99 with a two-year wireless service agreement (CRU Only) and the purchase of AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk.

The DuraXE is available for $13.50 per month for 20 months on an AT&T Installment plan, $49.99 with two-year wireless service agreement (CRU only) and the purchase of AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk.

Kyocera DuraForce XD

Talking about the specs, the Kyocera Duraforce XD has a diagonal size of 5.7-inches HD display which can be operated on with wet hands or with gloved hands, quad-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.6GHz, Wi-Fi/NFC/LTE support and a 3700mAh battery, promising several hours of usage.

It is IP68 and Military Standard 810G certified to be able to withstand harshest of environments – the device withstand dust, drop, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure/high altitude, solar radiation, salt fog, humidity and water immersion.

The DuraForce XD has 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, a microSD card slot, a large button on the side that makes Push-to-Talk calls easy and extra-loud dual front speakers for communicating in noisy environments. It measures 13.9mm thick, weighs 307 grams and runs Andriod 5.1 Lollipop OS.

Kyocera DuraXE

The Kyocera DuraXE is a rugged feature clamshell/flip phone with IP68 certification (Waterproof and Dustproof) and Military Standard 810G protection like the DuraForce XD. For communicating in noisy environments, there are Dual front facing extra-loud speakers and a dedicated button to launch the Enhanced Push-To-Talk. ‎

The device makes us of two display – an external 1.08-inch (90 x 102 pixels) ‎Mono-color, high-contrast transflective LCD and an internal is 2.6-inch (240 x 320 pixels) QVGA TFT. Under the hood is a quad-core Qualcomm MSM8909 processor clocked at 1.1GHz with 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.

The DuraXE has an integrated 5MP camera and is backed by a removable 1500mAh battery that provides up to 16 days standby time & 9.4 hours of standby time.
