Just like the LG G Vista 2, AT&T has also taken the covers off the military standard rugged Kyocera Duraforce XD phablet-sized Android smartphone. The company is expected to unveil more information about the device including the pricing and mode of availability in coming weeks.
Talking about the specs, the Kyocera Duraforce XD sports a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Custom UI ontop and is backed by a 3700mAh battery which is expected to last hours. The screen can be operated on with wet gloves or hands.
The device has a waterproof and dustproof case with compliance with IPX5/IPX8 certification standards as well as IP6X standard. The device also has the military grade certification (MIL-STD-810G) to withstand harsh and extreme conditions be it weather or atmospheric ones such as Low pressure, humidity, high altitudes, drops, vibrations and more.
The Kyocera Duraforce XD supports GSM, WCDMA and FDD-LTE networks; connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4 – up to 150Mbps download speed). There is no word on the camera resolution of the device as well as the processor nor the amount of memory.
