Danish-based Luxury consumer electronics company, Bang and Olufsen (B&O) has unveiled a new portable wireless home speaker called the B&O Beosound Level. The speaker has a compelling five-driver setup made up of 2x 4-inch woofer, 1x 2-inch full range driver, 2x 0.8-inch tweeters and low distortion amplifiers to deliver adaptive and superior sound quality, 105 watts of music power, 79dB bass capability and 96dB in mid-range loudness.
Crafted at the Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark, and designed by prominent designed, Torsten Valeur, the B&O Beosound Level is fashioned with pearl blasted aluminium frame and the speaker covers are available in two options: either natural oak veneer or knitted dark grey Kvadrat textile. The buttons on the sleek frame are activated via soft touch and the speaker itself is Dust and Splash resistant (IP54).
It lasts up to 16 hours of playtime at fair listening volumes and can either be charged via an aluminium magnetic plug that slots in at the back of the speaker or an optional wall bracket that charges the speaker while attached to it during usage. Other prominent features include Active Room compensation, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, 1x Line-in/optical combi-jack, 1x Ethernet 10/100 Mbit, exchangeable battery (Li-ion), Proximity sensor, Light sensor and USB-C. There is also support for AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect.

More importantly, B&O has included its replaceable streaming module to receive features and performance upgrades over the years, and modules can be replaced when they become outdated. The speaker covers are also replaceable with new materials and colourways to suit preference. The Beosound Level is available online and in B&O stores for a RRP starting at EUR 1249 (GBP 1099/ DKK 9499). The optional Wall Bracket will go on sale before the end of April for EUR 99 (GBP 89/ DKK 739).
