Weeks ago, Danish Luxury audio brand, Bang & Olufsen (B&O) unveiled the Beosound Edge – a new powerful wireless multiroom speaker with world’s first active bass port. It is created in collaboration with globally acclaimed designer Michael Anastassiades.
The BeoSound Edge is a large, circular shaped speaker (50cm diameter) with polished aluminium body and built-in touch interface. It can be placed either on the floor or on the wall, and rolling the speaker forwards or backwards – increase or decreases the level of volume.
The premium speaker has a huge 10″ woofer bass driver on one side and 3/4″ tweeter and 4″ midrange on both sides for a 360-degree sound. B&O confirms the debut of Active Bass Port – which combines two classical concepts of loudspeaker design: closed-box and ported design.
Through the Bang & Olufsen app, there is the option to define the direction that the sound radiates using the new Directional Sound Control. The speaker connects and streams via AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Chromecast. It also supports voice interaction when paired with either Google Assistant or Bluetooth enabled speakers.
The Beosound Edge is priced starting at EUR 3,250 and is available online and in Bang & Olufsen stores.
