On the back of the launch of the TCL-made Blackberry KEYone at the MWC 2017, a new Blackberry-branded smartphone has surfaced on a retail listing in Indonesia. BB Merah Putih, the Canadian brand’s partner for the market is expected to make the mid-range Blackberry Aurora (BB Aurora) official soon.
Whenever it launches, the Blackberry Aurora will the first ever Blackberry-Branded smartphone to feature Dual SIM slots. It is listed online for a pre-order price of IDR 3,499,000 (US$ 262) and it is still a bit early to decide if this will be the final price, it should arrive in three colour options – Black, Gold and Silver.
While the listing does not have the full specifications, eagle-eyed observers have pointed out that Aurora could be the BBC100-1 which was benchmarked late last year. It is expected to feature a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display, 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, and 3000mAh battery.
The rest of the specs include: rear 13MP camera with LED flash, front 8MP selfie camera, 4G LTE Cat. 4, GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Android 7.0 Nougat OS. We should be able to confirm all these when BB Merah Putih makes the BB Aurora official.
