Blackberry has introduced a Timed Messages and Message Retraction feature to the Blackberry Messenger (BBM); offering users better privacy and control over what they share.
First up is the Timed Message Features, this looks like a snapchat-esque feature or more like the Wind-Up for Windows phone. This feature basically allows user set a timer to control how long messages or picture will appear on BBM. Before sending the message, users just has to hold the timer icon and set the length of time the recipient can view the message. And for the fast brains, don’t try to screenshot the message as the sender would be notified instantly.
Next up is the Retraction features, have you ever typed a wrong message to the wrong user and you most times have to apologise? Well this feature is for you. The feature basically help you retract any information you share instantly; all you need do is touch and hold the text and select the Retract option. This feature works on one-on-one chats, does not apply to picture sharing and works with only messages at least for now.
Both features are currently available on BBM Beta users on Android and BB10, and will be rolled out to the general release version 2.5 of the apps for Android, BB10 and iOS in coming days.
