Blackberry Mobile has unveiled the launch schedule for the upcoming Blackberry Key2 smartphone with hardware QWERTY keyboard. The successor to the Blackberry KeyOne will be unveiled at an event in New York on June 7 and at a separate launch event at the Damai Center in Beijing, China the following day (June 8).
Apart from the launch name, date and time, Blackberry has over the weeks also released a short promo video for its new flagship. The Blackberry Key2 is expected to have a similar body design as the KeyOne including the 4.5-inch display, convenience key, volume rocker and power button.
It now has a dual rear camera setup with dual LED flash and new function key with 9 dots (3 x 3) on the physical keyboard. The device was previously spotted on TENAA under the codename: ATHENA with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC, 6GB of RAM, 64GB built-in expandable storage, front 8MP camera, Dual SIM slots and USB Type-C port.
It also boots Android 8.1 Oreo OS and power is supplied by a 3,360mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. We should know the rest of the details in two or three day’s time.
