China’s TCL Communication has officially announced ‘Mercury’ as the Blackberry KEYone. Priced at $549/£499, the KEYone holds the title for the last smartphone designed by Blackberry and as expected preaches both mobile security and productivity. It arrives with Blackberry’s endearing physical QWERTY keyboard and boots Android 7.1 Nougat OS with Blackberry security suite including the DTEK app.
The Keys on the keyboard can be swiped like a touchpad to navigate around the device and can also be customised up to 52 shortcuts. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and backed by a 3505mAh battery, the largest ever in a BlackBerry device, which can receive a 50% charge in just 36 minutes.
