Blackberry’s upcoming Android OS smartphone has surfaced ahead of its launch this month (October). The mid-tier device, simply known as the BlackBerry BBD100-1 (Krypton), was recently certified by the Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance and expected to go official as the Blackberry Motion.
Press image of the Blackberry Motion (Krypton) has leaked online thanks to popular tipster, Evan Blass (@evleaks), who also confirmed the launch name. The device is rumoured to have a full metal IP67 (water and dust resistant ) body with glass covering, hardware buttons on the right hand side and a number of ports.
The device is expected to have a 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD screen resolution (possibly on a 5.2 or 5.5-inch display), 4GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625/626 octa-core processor and 4,000mAh battery. The front home button has the Blackberry logo etched on it and could also house the fingerprint sensor.
According to some leaks, Blackberry Motion will boot Android 7.1 Nougat OS rather than the recently released Android 8.0 Oreo. We might have to wait until the device go official to learn more about the full specifications and retail price.
