Blackberry Oslo is an upcoming square-faced Passport successor

Towards the end of last year, Blackberry announced the square-faced Blackberry Passport smartphone with a distance 1:1 screen ration to widely critical acclaim. The Canadian company is said to be working on a successor or likely a refreshed version of the Passport which is simply known internally as ‘Blackberry Oslo‘ for now.

According to a report obtained today, the photo render of the BlackBerry Oslo has surfaced and some of the major specs has been detailed. Disappointedly most of the details released are very similar to the BlackBerry Passport which somehow puts a question mark over the authencity of the report.

The device is expected to pack a 13MP rear facing camera with OIS, 2MP front selfie camera, a LCD display with 1440 X 1440 pixels resolution, 32-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, BlackBerry OS 10.3.2 and 3450mAh battery.

The listing also stressed that while this is early days, some of the specs could still change and there should be some improvements in certain aspects.

Since it is early days, we just have to keep it locked down and patiently await more information on the BlackBerry Oslo. The device is said to have been quietly showed off at the MWC 2015 and is expected to be available globally by June 30th.
