Blackberry has made the Blackberry Passport Silver Edition available in the US; this model has some changes to the original Blackberry Passport announced last year. The device had been leaked to be the Blackberry OS/Blackberry Dallas.
The Blackberry Passport Silver Edition is currently selling from Blackberry in the US for $549 unlocked. For those who purchase the device through August 19th (our until stock lasts) would get additional goodies worth over $130 of accessories in form of a Leather Flex Shell ($39.99), Leather Flip Case ($59.99) and a Sync Pod ($34.99).
The Passport Silver Edition comes with a reinforced steel frame for improved durability, improved keyboard for better typing and a diamond like soft touch back panel and now measures 131 x 90.5 x 9.25 mm in dimensions compared to 128 x 90.3 x 9.3 mm on the Original Blackberry Passport.
This models is not compatible with Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular network bands, however, it supports FD-LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20 HSPA +: 1, 2, 4, 5/6, 8, EDGE network bands.
Most of the specs of the Original Passport stays with the Blackberry Passport Silver Edition – 4.5-inch display with resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels, Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.2GHz paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB space of internal storage.
Others includes – 4G LTENFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity; 2MP front camera, 13MP rear camera with OIS, Blackberry OS 10.3.2.1 and backed by a 3450mah battery which is expected to provide around 30 hours of battery life.
