Blackberry has rolled out Blackberry Priv or Priv by Blackberry, the company’s first Android smartphone with a sliding keyboard in the US, UK and Canada. The device is expected to hit other regions at a later date in Black colour option only.
The Blackberry Priv sports a 5.4-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, powered by an 1.8GHz Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM, rear 18MP main camera with OIS, and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with promised upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The device inherits a host of existing and new Blackberry apps and features such as Blackberry Hub and there is a new one called DTEK by Blackberry for Android that prompts the user when privacy is at risk and prompts user to act on it. According to Blackberry, Priv stands for ‘Privilege’ and ‘Privacy’.

Pricing
The BlackBerry Priv is available in Black Colour option onlay at least for now and in terms of pricing, in the US and Canada, it costs USD $699 and CAD$ 899 respectively ; in the UK, it costs £559 in UK. When the Priv comes to Nigeria, it could cost between N140,000 – N170,000 in Nigerian Naira.
