Almost everybody knows the storms has not settled on Blackberry’s financial woes and all of it recent released smartphones (Passport, Classic and Leap) are not all best-sellers at the moment.
While the Canada-based company has confirmed it would continue to make smartphones, rumours of an Android smartphone from Blackberry keeps getting intensified and when they refuse to go away then it becomes news.
Some hours ago, Popular Blogger and Analyst, Eldar Murtazin tweeted about a possible collaboration between Blackberry and Samsung which would see a Android Lollipop OS running Blackberry Smartphone come to life.

Supposedly if the arrangement finally becomes a reality, Samsung would be tasked with manufacturing and designing the device while Blackberry would be handling some, if not most of the software aspect and integrating it’s core apps available on Android into the smartphone.
The smartphone in question is codenamed Venice by Blackberry and it is expect to feature a large touchscreen display whilst also having a traditional Blackberry QWERTY keyboard. The device is expected to run android OS instead of Blackberry 10 and several Blackberry apps and services would be integrated.
A deeper look at the Blackberry Venice (Slider smartphone) reveals a striking semblance with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge when placed side by side. The Slider smartphone will reportedly feature a 5.1-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) QHD display, powered by an octa-core processor, 16MP rear camera and a front facing 5MP camera (same specs as the Galaxy S6 Edge).
Over the past few month, both Samsung and Blackberry has collaborated on different products; both companies in collaboration with IBM announced the BlackBerry SecuTablet at the MWC 2015 earlier this year. The SecuTablet is built on the Samsung Galaxy S 10.5 tablet.
Last year, both companies announced they were bring mobile security options to Android with the integration of the Blackberry BES12 and Samsung Knox. And earlier this year, there were reports of Samsung acquiring Blackberry but those reports were quickly shot down as both companies maintains they enjoy a strategic partnership.
It is unlikely Blackberry would be ditching its much loved BlackBerry 10 OS for Android on the Slider smartphone or any smartphone for that matter. However, if there is anything the tech industry as a whole has taught me, it is to expect anything at anytime.
