Miami based device manufacturer, BLU has announced two budget smartphones with huge batteries; the devices in question are the BLU Energy X with 4000mAh battery and the BLU Studio Energy 2 with 5000mAh battery. Both devices are available from Amazon for $109 and $179 respectively.
Both the Energy X and Studio Energy 2 have the potential to last up to 4 or 5 days of mixed usage.
BLU Energy X
Starting with the lesser specced of the duo, the BLU Energy X; it has a premium-looking Aluminium metal body build which is 8.9mm thin, weighs 154 grams and is available in either Sleek Midnight Grey or Ultra-Luxurious Gold finish. It sports a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), pixel density of 294ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Under the hood, the Energy X is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-400 GPU, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB native storage and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB.
The BLU Energy X has a front facing 2MP camera and rear facing 8MP camera with LED flash. Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-Fi 802.11n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, microUSB v2.0, Wi-Fi Direct, and 3G. It has Dual SIM slots and is backed by a non-removable 4000mAh Li-po battery.
BLU Studio Energy 2
Running Android Lollipop OS (5.0) also, the BLU Studio Energy 2 has a bigger 5000mAh battery and is the successor of the BLU Studio Energy launched earlier this year. It sports a 5-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 294ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Mediatek 6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali T720 GPU, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB internal storage place. The device has a front facing 5MP camera, a rear facing 8MP camera with LED flash and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB.
Connectivity options on the BLU Studio Energy 2 includes – Wi-Fi 802.11n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, GPS with AGPS, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE. It measures 144 x 71.2 x 10.1 mm in dimensions, weighs 176 grams, has an Aluminium metal body build and available in Midnight Grey and Ceramic White with Rose Gold colour options.
