BLU has announced three new smartphones – the BLU Energy X Plus, BLU Vivo Selfie and BLU C 5+5 smartphones. All three devices run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, supports Dual SIM slots, front 5MP camera for selfies and will be available from Amazon.com and other retailers starting August.
Commenting on the launch of the smartphones, Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO of BLU Products said;
“BLU continues to innovate, manufacture and provide consumers with smartphones perfectly suited for each and everyone’s specific needs and desires into account, with a focus on design, quality and user experience while maintaining affordability.”
BLU Studio C 5+5
The BLU Studio C 5+5 must have derived it’s name for having a 5MP Autofocus rear camera and a front facing 5MP camera with OmniVision OV5670 sensor and 84-degree wide angle lens for selfies.
It sports a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA display, powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-400 MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of expandable internal storage. It has Dual SIM capabilities, has a microSD card slot for additional storage (up to 64GB) and is backed by a 2000mAh battery.
The Studio C+C is available in either 3G and 4G LTE connectivity option; the former costs $89 while the latter costs $99; both are sold unlocked and compatible with US networks.
BLU Vivo Selfie
For the selfie lovers, the BLU Vivo Selfie joins the growing list of selfie smartphones. It sports a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and measures 7.75mm thin and is available in five colour options – Green, Grey, Pink, Teal and White.
Moving to the camera segment, it sports a front and rear facing 8MP cameras apiece; the main camera has Sony IMX179 sensor, Largan lens and LED flash. The front camera has a 88-degree wide angle lens and Glam flash for use in low-light modes. It is backed by a 2300mAh battery.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Quad-core processor from Mediatek clocked at 1.3GHz paired with ARM-Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of expandable internal storage. It has support for Dual SIM slots, but no support for LTE connectivity and is priced higher at $149.
BLU Energy X Plus
The BLU Energy X Plus looks like a variant of the BLU Studio Energy, comes with a 4000mAh battery and measures just 8mm thin for a device with such huge battery. The battery is expected to last up to three days of standard usage and over a month of standby time.
Compared to the trio, it sports a bigger 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and has the same processor, RAM and storage as the above two devices. On the rear, there is a 8MP autoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with OmniVision OV5670 sensor, 84-degree wide angle lens and front facing LED flash.
The Energy X Plus is priced at $139 in Dark Grey, White Silver and Luxury Gold colour option.
