BLU Products has announced the launch of the BLU R1 Plus – its latest battery centric smartphone in the ‘R’ series. The R1 Plus is the successor to last year’s BLU R1 HD and depends on a beefier 4000mAh battery, which is stated to last up to 30 days of standby and about 2-3 days of usage on a single charge.
Pre-loaded with 2015’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS (the company did promise update to Android Nougat), the BLU R1 has a 5.5-inch 720p HD display with Curved Gorilla Glass 3 Protection, rear facing 13 MP f/2.2 camera with LED flash and front facing 5MP camera with front-facing LED flash.
Under the hood, the device comes equipped with a quad-core Mediatek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage (expandable up to 64GB). It supports 4G LTE (Bands 2, 4, 7, 12, and 17) and is GSM unlocked for compatible carrier such as AT&T and T-Mobile.
The BLU R1 Plus is available at Amazon and Best Buy for a price tag of $159.99 in Gunmetal Gray colour. Customers can also take advantage of the limited time $50 instant rebate on offer to cop the device for $109.99.
