BLU has announced a new smartphone – the BLU Selfie which is targeted at the Selfie-loving customers. The device comes with decent midrange specs and would be available in the US for $249 unlocked on Amazon USA in Black, White and Blue colour options.
The BLU Selfie has a front and rear 13MP Sony IMX135 Sensor; the front 13MP LED flash and the main 13MP camera has Dual LED flash. The BLU Selfie is passing a message across which says the race for the front camera can only get bigger. Starting from days of 0.3MP/VGA front camera and now 13MP which is the highest available yet.
The Dual SIM (Micro SIM + Nano SIM) enabled BLU Selfie sports a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with a pixel density of 313ppi and Corning Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7GHz with Mali 450 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage.
There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB. It measures 146 x 66.3 x 9.6 mm in dimensions, weighs 136g, FM Radio; connectivity options on the device includes – micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and 3G HSDPA. Sensor options includes Accelerometer, Proximity, Gravity, Gyroscope, Light and Motion.
It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS which is one of the downpoints and is very unlikely to see the Android Lollipop update; and is backed by a 2300mAh Li-Po battery which is expected to provide up to 760 hours of standby time and 26 hours (2G)/14 hours (3G) of talktime.
