Along with the BLU Pure XL, BLU also announced the BLU Vivo Air LTE – BLU says it thinnest and lightest 4G LTE smartphone in the Americas at 5.1mm thin and 96 grams respectively. The device will also be available exclusively from Amazon for $199 starting September 22nd in two colours – Black and White.
The BLU Vivo Air LTE measures the same 5.1mm thinness and has the same metal aluminium body build with Corning Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as the BLU Vivo Air released earlier this year. The device now comes with LTE connectivity and improvement in certain specs areas.
Talking about improvements, the Vivo Air LTE now runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box but is upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow by Q1 2016, has 2GB of RAM and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz.
The BLU Vivo Air LTE supports 2G and 3G HSPA+ globally on all networks; supports LTE networks in the US – compatible with T-Mobile’s network but that of AT&T and others are limited to areas where the carriers use LTE Band 2 and 4. Global markets are supported for roaming with LTE Band 7.
The rest of the specs remains pretty much the same; it sports a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display (306ppi), 16GB space of internal storage, no microSD card slot, main 8MP Sony IMX214 camera with LED flash and 5MP front facing camera for selfies
Hopefully, the 2050mAh battery on the BLU Vivo Air LTE will the device one for about one day of usage and there is a Super Low Power Mode which lets the device access basic operations like voice calls, contacts, SMS and alarms.
