Bluboo seems to come with better names for its low-end to mid-range devices than its top-shelf devices. The budget-friendly Bluboo Picasso which went on sale recently for a price tag around US$ 100 will be getting a new companion in the market in form of the Bluboo Maya.
Scheduled to launch in June, the Bluboo Maya is pretty much another lower mid-range phablet device with 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and a quad-core Mediatek MT6580A processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-400 GPU for graphics. The SoC points to a 3G only device.
It sports a 5.5-inch display with 720p HD screen resolution (or less) and is expected to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box with 20-percent less power consumption and new multiple functions. Design-wise, it appears to be packed in a mix of metal and plastic body but will retain the diamond texture feature found on Bluboo XTouch devices.
The volume rockers as well as the power button is located on the right-hand side of the device. In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13-megapixel AF camera with LED flash and a front facing 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. There is no word on the battery capacity of the Bluboo Maya nor the pricing.
