With the Xfire 2 expected to go on sale this month, Bluboo has announced its latest budget 3G smartphone – the Bluboo Picasso, one it claims to be the world’s first 2GB RAM MT6580 smartphone. The 5-inch sized device will officially retail at any point in February 2016 for a price tag of $99.99 (or equivalent).
Moving to the specs which we only have the partial part of it; it sports a 5-inch IPS Oncell display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), a pixel density of 294ppi and a rumoured 80% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali 400 MP GPU.
The device packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space (no word whether it is expandable). For photography, the device uses Dual 8MP cameras – a rear facing 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 8MP camera with fill light for improved camera output when taking selfies.
Picasso supports 2G and 3G networks only, measures 141 x 70 x 8 mm in dimensions, has an Aluminium body frame and the screen is said to be strong enough to withstand drilling (the Sapphire Glass protection could turn out to be true). The exact battery capacity is not stated but it supports fast charging; Bluboo Picasso could arrive in Blue, Red and White colours.
