Some weeks ago, we brought details about the upcoming Bluboo smartphone which would pack a massive 5300mAh (5350mAh according to some source) battery. While Bluboo is not one of the well prominent, the company is looking to lure customers from around the globe with an affordable priced device with the decent midrange specs.
The Bluboo X550 is a phablet sized device with a 5.5-inch (1280 X 720 pixels) HD OGS display, metal body and capacitive buttons below the display. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor clocked at up to 1.5 GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot onboard which extend storage capacity.
The 5300mAh battery on the Bluboo X550 is expected to provide around 30 days of standby time, 3 days of usage and has quick charging features. The device has dual rear speakers, 8.9mm thick body, supports world 4G LTE mode and would run Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The Bluboo X550 is priced at $169.99 and is expected to be showcased in HongKong this week with plans underway to offer the device through online retailers starting May.
The company is also expected to showcase the Bluboo C100 which should use the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 processor, run Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, measures about 7.5mm thick, 5-inch HD display with a $99 price tag.
Am sure these kind of smartphones won’t make it to Nigeria. We need smartphones with bigger batteries here.
