Spanish mobile company, BQ has released four new mid-range smartphones – the BQ Aquaris U2, Aquaris U2 Lite, Aquaris V and Aquaris V Plus in Europe. All four devices come pre-loaded with Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS and are each equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
BQ Aquaris U2 and Aquaris U2 Lite
The BQ Aquaris U2 sports a 5.2-inch IPS A-SI LCD display with HD resolution and 2.5D curved Dinore glass protection, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in expandable storage and 3,100mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. It boots Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS and relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor.
Photography is handled by a primary 13MP Samsung S5K3L8 camera with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture alongside a front facing 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 camera with f/2.0 aperture. It supports 4G LTE networks as well as Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac and NFC connectivity options.
As the name goes, the BQ Aquaris U2 Lite is a watered down version of the Aquaris U2. It is now powered by a slightly lower Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor and has a rear 8MP Samsung S5K4H8 camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. The rest of the specs remain virtually the same.
Pricing for the Aquaris U2 starts at EUR 190 while the Aquaris U2 Lite start at EUR 170.
BQ Aquaris V and Aquaris V Plus
The BQ Aquaris V has the same display, processor and battery capacity as the Aquaris U2, however, it is equipped with a rear fingerprint sensor and comes in two RAM and storage options: 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB.. The main camera is a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture, while the front selfie camera is a 8MP Samsung S5K4H8 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and front flash.
The BQ Aquaris V Plus shares the key specs with the Aquaris V, U2, and U2 Lite but goes a notch higher with a bigger 5.5-inch 1080p FHD display and 3,400mAh battery with fast charging. The memory and storage now stand at 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB built-in space respectively.
The Aquaris V is priced starting at EUR 210 while the Aquaris V Plus starts at EUR 260.
