A new tablet from the Low-cost Android and Windows tablet Maker, Ematic has popped up on the FCC Website with the listing revealing most of the technical specs of the tablet. The tablet in question is the Ematic EGQ178 and with no doubt is expected to not only be sold for a sub-$100 price tag, it will also come with the sweetened Lollipop OS, one which is still missing on most tablets.
The Ematic EGQ178 sports a 7.9-inch display and is the first Android 5.0 Lollipop OS tablet from Ematic. The display has a 1024 x 768 pixels resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio, 512MB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage which is also expandable by a microSD card slot (up to 32GB).
Under the hood, there is a 1.2 GHz Allwinner A33 ARM Cortex A7 quad core CPU and the camera combination on the low-cost slate is the 2MP/0.3MP on the rear and front respectively. Connectivity options on the device includes – 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm audio Jack.
The slate also has a soft button, a microphone and a rear speaker on-board. Overall the tablet would be backed by a 3000mAh battery which is expected to keep the light on for some hours. The exact dimension of the slate is unknown but it is not expected to be bulky and it should be lightweight also. The ECQ178 is not yet officially listed on the company’s website.
