Dell has announced the Dell Venue 7 3741 phablet (phone + tablet features) which can make voice calls, supports 3G connectivity and has an almost 7-inch display which would have perfectly qualified it for a tablet.
The Dell Venue 7 3741 features a big sized 6.95-inch TN display with 1024 x 600 pixels and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor clocked at 1.33GHz, up to 1.86GHz in burst mode with Power VR G6400 GPU. Handling tasks is a rather smallish 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage space is available for files and apps alike.
There is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion up to 64GB; the Venue 7 3741 has a rear facing 2MP with no mention of LED flash and a front facing VGA camera. Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 3G connectivity.
Measuring 199 x 103 x 9.85mm in dimensions, the Dell Venue 7 3741 weighs 315 grams, runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and is backed by a 4100mAh battery which should keep the device running for some hours. The device is on sale in India for a price tag of Rs 7999 ($125) in Black colour option only.
