Gionee has announced a new budget-based device – the Gionee P5W (or Gionee Pioneer P5W) in China. The device is also expected to go on sale in India soon for a price tag speculated to between Rs 6582 (US$ 99) to Rs 8000 (US$ 120) in five colour options including Blue, Black and Yellow.
Key highlights of the Gionee P5W are DTS 3D Stereo Surround Sound for enhanced audio output and Face unlock technology support which recognises a pre-set face using the front camera before unlocking the device. The Dual SIM device however lacks LTE connectivity support, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Amigo 3.0 UI and is backed by a 2000mAh battery.
