CES 2016: Huawei has relaunched the Honor 5X in the US market; the metal clad device is being marketed as a no-nonsense phone with fingerprint sensor and more. It will be available from Amazon, Newegg and the Honor US website (HiHonor.com) starting January 31st in Gold, Gray and Silver colour options for a price tag of $199.99.
The Huawei Honor 5X has a front facing 5MP camera with f/2.4 apertures and 22mm wide angle lens for panoramic selfies; and a rear facing 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and Dual LED flash. The fingerprint sensor boasts of of an 0.4sec unlock time and supports gestures such as swapping and tapping.
The device sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space. Connectivity option onboard includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0, GPS/AGPS/Glonass and 4G LTE.
The Honor 5X measures 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.15 mm in dimensions, weighs 158 grams in size and runs Android Lollipop OS with EMUI 3.1 ontop. It is backed by a non-removable 3000 mAh fast charging battery, which should provide around 24 – 36 hours of battery life depending on usage (whether moderate or heavy).
