HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, announced a number of new products under its various brands – AKG, JBL and Harman, at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas.
AKG N5005
AKG Acoutics adds new high-end in-ear headphones to its Studio on-the-go Series. The AKG N5005 is certified for ‘Hi-Res Audio’ by the Japan Audio Society and engineered with four interchangeable sound filters – Bass Boost, Reference Sound, Semi-High Boost and High Boost, to enable customized sound.
The premium headphone feature 5 Drivers (9.2 mm + Quad BA drivers), four sets of ear tips, three sets of SpinFit ear tips, two sets of high-quality detachable twist cables and 8-hour battery life Bluetooth® dongle with remote control and microphone. It will go on sale by Spring 2018 for $999.95.
Harman Kardon Allure Portable
HARMAN International also introduced the Harman Kardon Allure Portable powered by Amazon Alexa voice service. The new digital assistant speaker is positioned as a companion to the original Harman Kardon Allure, and as expected, it is controlled by voice commands and works hands-free.
The Allure Portable offers music lovers a captivating listening experience with 20W 2 x 1.75 inch full-range drivers and 2 passive radiators, built-in microphones with advanced noise cancellation technology. Wireless Bluetooth streaming and up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.
JBL Clip 3
The newly redesigned JBL Clip 3 compact, waterproof portable Bluetooth speaker offers the signature JBL sound in the same sized compact form. It features a built-in Carabiner, wireless Bluetooth streaming, speakerphone and a built-in rechargeable battery for up to 10 hours of playtime.
The JBL Clip 3 is expected to be avaialblein Spring 2018 for $59.95. Desert Sand, Dusty Pink, Fiesta Red, Forest Green, Midnight Black, Mustard Yellow, Ocean Blue, River Teal, Steel White and Stone Grey are the available colour options.
JBL Endurance Series
JBL’s Endurance series is a new sport headphone line from the brand. The series includes the JBL Endurance RUN, JBL Endurance SPRINT, JBL Endurance JUMP and JBL Endurance DIVE, which are all uniquely designed and tailored for every type of athlete.
Engineered with JBL’s Signature Sound with Pure Bass Performance, the JBL Endurance Series lasts up to 8 hours of playtime and the battery charges one hour playback in only 10 minutes with Speed Charge. The trio feature on-ear touch controls to easily control music and volume.
Also, the DIVE, JUMP and SPRINT headphones are all IPX7 certified (waterproof). The Endurance series ($19.99 – $89.99) will be available in 5 colour options starting in Spring 2018.
JBL Everest Headphones
JBL also announced new Everest premium wireless headphones – the JBL Everest 710GA, JBL Everest 310GA and JBL Everest 110GA. They new line-up (around-ear, on-ear and in-ear headphones) all combine JBL Pro Audio Sound with built-in Google Assistant.
JBL LINK View
The JBL LINK View is a voice-controlled, smart display speaker with Google Assistant built-in. With the LINK View, users can view pictures, stream audio and video, ask questions, scan recipes, and video call with family and friends, all with their voice.
The LINK View features a 8-inch HD touchscreen display, 2x front 10W stereo speakers and a rear passive radiator, front facing 5MP camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. It is IPX4-certified (Splash proof) and measures 330 x 150 x 100 mm. Availability is scheduled from Summer 2018 starting with the US market.
JBL Reflect Series – Reflect Mini 2 & Reflect Contour 2
The next-gen JBL Reflect series in-ear sport headphones line now includes the Reflect Mini 2 and Reflect Contour 2. Both in-ear wireless headphones are made from waterproof materials (IPX5) and reflective cables, and are positioned as the ultimate sound companion for an active lifestyle.
The JBL Reflect Mini 2 and Reflect Contour 2 connect wirelessly to any Bluetooth-enabled device for up to 10 hours of usage. The duo will be avaialble for $99.95 starting Spring 2018 in Black, Blue, Lime Green and Teal colours (Reflect Mini 2) and in Black, Blue, Lime Green and White (Contour 2).
JBL Xtreme 2
The JBL Xtreme 2, successor to the popular Xtreme portable Bluetooth speaker was also announced. It offers superior audio performance, up to 15 hours of playtime, JBL Bass radiator, noise and echo cancelling speakerphone and USB charging port.
Priced starting at US$ 299.95, the speaker has a rugged fabric, fully waterproof design (IPX7) and arrives in Forest Green, Midnight Black and Ocean Blue. It also features Bluetooth connectivity (connects up to 2 users to the same speaker) and JBL Connect+, which allows users to link one-hundred or more Connect+-enabled speakers
