Philippines-based Cherry Mobile has quietly launched a new Cosmos series smartphone - the Cherry Mobile Cosmos 3. The phablet-sized device is powered by the high-end Mediatek Helio X20 Deca-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2.3GHz with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU and is currently available in select Cherry Mobile stores in the home country for PHP 9,999 (US$ 201).
Backed by a moderately-lasting 3500mAh battery and pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS; the Cherry Mobile Cosmos 3 succeeds the Cosmos line and packs a large 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), 2.5D curved glass and a pixel density of 386ppi.
The device packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. In the camera aspect, there is a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash alongside a front facing 8MP camera with LED flash for selfies. It has Dual SIM slots, supports 4G LTE (Cat.4) networks, uses the USB Type-C port for charging and transferring data.
Asides being 700MHz ready (LTE), the Cherry Mobile Cosmos 3 has a rear placed fingerprint sensor and the usual suspect in connectivity – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS/A-GPS.
