One of Google’s Android One partner, Cherry Mobile has announced three new smartphones – the Cherry Mobile Flare 4, Cherry Mobile Flare S4 and Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Plus in the Philippines. All three smartphones are priced at Php 4999 ($109), Php 4999 ($109) and Php 7999 ($175) respectively.
Cherry Mobile Flare S4 and Flare 4
Both the Cherry Mobile Flare S4 and Cherry Mobile Flare 4 are the same device with the difference only being that the former has Dragontrail glass protection while the latter has Aluminium alloy sides.
Both devices are Dual SIM enabled, sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by an octa-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. The main camera is a 13MP rear facing snapper with Flash and 5MP front facing camera.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the devices support 4G LTE connectivity as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Both devices are priced at Php 4999 ($109) but the Cherry Mobile Flare S4 is backed by a 2200mAh battery and will be available at the end of October while the Cherry Mobile Flare 4 is backed by a 2100mAh battery and will be available before the end of October.
Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Plus
The Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Plus is the more advanced of the trio devices but has share similar specs in some aspects. The device comes with an improved battery capacity + life, screen resolution, cameras (front and rear) and display size.
Also running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Plus sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD OGS IPS display with a pixel density of 400ppi and Dragontrail glass protection. It is powered by the same octa-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 16GB internal storage but this time around with 3GB of RAM.
Handling photography onboard is a 16MP BSI rear camera with LED flash and a front facing 8MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the Flare S4 Plus includes – 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS, A-GPS.
The Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Plus has Dual Hybrid SIM slots with one of the slots acting as a microSD card slot. The device is priced at Php 7999 ($175), backed by a 2,800mAh battery and will be available by the end of October.
