Chinese Smartphone maker Xiaomi Claims 15 Million Pre-Order Has Been Made For The Xiaomi Redmi Note

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi announced its first phablet, the Redmi Note back in march. Few days later when it opened for pre-ordering the smartphone maker sold 100,000 units of the Redmi Note in 34 minutes back in March.

Xiaomi employed the Hunger marketing strategy in its approach to selling the Redmi Note, now the company has announced 15 million people pre-ordered the $161 phablet. The number surpasses Samsung Galaxy S5’s and iPhone 5C and 5S cummulative opening weekend sales. It is however not clear if Xiaomi counts pre-order as either customers have reserved the chance to buy the device, they have already paid for the device or exactly signing up to know more about the device.
