Chuwi has announced the successor to the Chuwi Vi8 Dual OS tablet with Intel Atom Bay Trail processor – the Chuwi Vi8 Plus with Intel Cherry Trail Processor, runs Windows 10 OS and has USB Type-C port. The slate is available for a price tag from US$98 to 100 from varying 3rd-party Chinese resellers.
The Chuwi Vi8 Plus doesn’t wow in terms of specs and for that price one shouldn’t expect the specs of a Galaxy Tab E from Samsung or iPad Mini from apple. It sports a 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, measures 211.2 x 123.2 x 9.3 mm and weighs 350 grams in size.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a quad-core Intel Cherry Trail Atom x5-Z8300 processor clocked at 1.84GHz with 8th-Gen Intel HD Graphics, 2GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. The slate has a front and rear facing 2-megapixels camera for photography and a microSD card slot for additional external storage support up to 64GB.
The Chuwi Vi8 Plus is backed by a 4000mAh Li-ion battery and runs Windows 10 OS along with all the inherent features. Connectivity options onboard includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro HDMI port, USB Type-C and USB OTG. Black is the only available colour option and the body is composed of a mix of metal & plastic.
