CloudFone EPIC 7.1 and EPIC 8.9 tablets with Intel Atom SoC and Dual Boot OS announced

Philippines (Filipino) based firm, ColoudFone has announced two new dual boot tablet – the CloudFone Epic 7.1 and Epic 8.9 tablets, which runs not one but two OS – Android and Windows OS. Both tablets are powered by an Intel Atom SoC and available in the Philippines for PHP 5,999 ($134) and PHP 8999 ($201) respectively.

The CloudFone Epic 7.1 (CloudPad Epic 7.1) sports a 7.1-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS LCD display and has 1GB of RAM to handle tasks while the CloudFone Epic 8.9 (CloudPad Epic 8.9) sports a 8.9-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD IPS LCD display and has 2GB of RAM to handle tasks. Both tablets are powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8GHz, 32GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. 

The camera combination on the device is a 5MP camera on the rear and a front-facing 2MP camera; both cameras have CMOS image sensor. Connectivity options on the device includes – GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG and micro USB.

The Dual-Boot CloudFone Epic 7.1 and Epic 8.9 runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS and Windows 8.1 OS with what the company calls crossover-technology.  

While both tablets come with basically the same tech specs, the display and resolution, the RAM and the battery capacity are said to be the difference. The rest are pretty much the same.
