Coolpad’s sub brand, Dazen has announced the Coolpad Dazen Note 3; the device is the first in the series with a fingerprint sensor. The phablet sized device is moderately price despite packing lower midrange specs – it sells for CNY 899 ($144) in China.
Looking at the design, the Coolpad Dazen Note 3 has a polycarbonate body build, slim bezels around the sides of the display and the back shell is replaceable. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek 6753 64-bit processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with ARM Mali-T720 GPU.
The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage; it sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). There is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion (up to 128GB).
On the rear, there is a 13MP camera and on the front, there is a 5MP camera for selfies. Just below the camera, there is a fingerprint sensor; the sensor supports fast response time and 360-degree finger rotation capability. Connectivity options on the Dazen Note 3 includes – 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WI-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and OTG connectivity.
The Coolpad Dazen Note 3 comes with Dual SIM slots (with Dual Standby), measures 141 x 71.5 x 9.3 mm, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 3000mAh battery which is expected to last roughly two days or more.
