Corning Incorporated has announced the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 – successor to last year’s Gorilla Glass 5 for consumer mobile devices and the new Gorilla Glass DX and Gorilla Glass DX+ for wearable devices. The company has also confirmed the Gorilla Glass 6 is expected to reach the market in upcoming months.
Corning Gorilla Glass 6
The more durable and tougher Gorilla Glass 6 is 2x better than the Gorilla Glass 5. It is also engineered to survive up to 15 consecutive drops on rough surfaces from a height of 1 meter.
Due to its optical clarity, touch sensitivity, scratch resistance, efficient wireless charging and enhanced durability, it is also positioned as the best solution for manufacturers embracing the new design trend of larger front displays with more surface area and glass back.

Corning Gorilla Glass DX and DX+
The Gorilla Glass DX and Gorilla Glass DX+, an extension of the Gorilla Glass SR+, both feature an antireflective property that vastly improves optical clarity and superior scratch resistance scaled to consumer needs, while maintaining the legendary toughness and touch sensitivity.
Compared to standard glass, the duo enhances display readability through a 75% improvement in front surface reflection and increases display contrast ratio by 50% with the same display brightness level. All these improvements in optical clarity also contribute to prolonging battery life.
The Gorilla Glass DX has the same level of scratch resistance as the Gorilla Glass while the Gorilla Glass DX+ boasts of superior scratch resistance compared to those of alternative luxury cover materials.
