Creo launches its First Smartphone – the Mark 1 with Fuel OS

Creo, an Indian-based start-up in Bangalore, announced their first smartphone in its home market called the Creo Mark 1. The high-end device is packed with beefy specs but the focus of the company’s Android-based software called Fuel OS. It is available from the company’s website – creosense.com and on Flipkart for Rs. 19,999 (US$ 300). ‎

Talking about the Fuel OS, it is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and promises prompt updates aimed at improving user experience and newer features from time to time (every month actually). Some of the key features includes Sense (search), Echo (voice mail service), Notification Manager, Smart Roaming, Smartforwarding and Retriever (geolocation).‎

Moving to the specs, the Creo Mark 1 sports a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) QHD display with 2.5D curves and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both sides – front and back. Packed in a sleek metal body build, the device is available in Gun Metal Black colour and is backed by a 3100mAh Li-po battery.

On the inside, the Mark 1 is powered ‎by the Mediatek Helio X10 processor clocked at 1.95GHz with 3GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage and Hybrid Dual SIM slots enabled with 4G LTE connectivity and the other SIM slot acting as a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB.

For photography, the Creo Mark 1 sports a front facing 8MP camera with 86-degrees field of view. The main camera is a 21MP camera with Sony Exmor IMX230 sensor, 120 FPS Ultra Slo-Mo capture, 4K Video recording and PDAF (0.5s). Both cameras have 3D Photo, Live Photo and Beautify mode.‎

To handle various after sale services, Creo currently has about 106 service centres in 96 Cities with phone pick up and drop service available in 15 top cities. The number should increase to 300 service centers in 150 cities in the coming months. Alternatively, customers can type ‘CREO Support’ in Sense and automatically chat/call a customer representative. Both the ReFUEL app and Sense can be consulted for the nearest available service centres.
