Cricket Wireless has announced two new low-cost Samsung Android smartphones for the US market – the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime and Samsung Galaxy Amp 2. Both devices run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box as well as having support for memory expansion via microSD card and 4G LTE connectivity.
Available online and in stores for $149.99, the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED display and 5MP main camera with Quick Launch. The device is suited for one-handed use, has Easy Mode option for starters and Ultra Low Power savings option for saving battery life (up to 24 hours standby time from just 10% of charge).
The Samsung Galaxy Amp 2 on the other hand sports a smaller 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) screen resolution and Outdoor Mode for better 15 minutes of visibility under sunlight.
Rest of the Galaxy Amp 2 specs includes a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, front facing 2MP camera, rear facing 5MP camera with Quick Launch and 2050mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving mode. It is available for a price tag of $99.99 starting April 15th.
