Chinese tablet maker, Cube has announced a new tablet – the Cube i6 Remix. The tablet is based on the Cube i6 and Cube i6 Air Dual Boot tablet but obviously with different OS this time and will be available to buy online from JD.com for CNY 699 (USD 110) by early October.
The Cube i6 Remix runs Jide’s Remix OS which itself is based on Android OS with most of the focus on productivity. The OS is optimised to deliver full PC mode experience on large screen tablets using external keyboard.
Moving to the specs, it sports a 9.7-inch LG IGZO retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735 Bay Trail processor clocked at 1.8GHz with 7th gen Intel HD graphics, 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space.
For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB. In terms of photography, the Cube i6 Remix has a rear facing 5MP camera and a front facing 2MP camera. The company is selling an optional keyboard separately to go along to make it double as a tablet.
The Cube i6 Remix measures 237 x 170 x 8.8mm in dimensions and has USB OTG, micro USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity options. The tablet is backed by a 8000mAh battery which is expected to provide up to 12 hours of continuous video playback time.
