Less than two weeks after the launch of the Rainbow 2, it’s first ever Dual Camera Smartphone, Cubot is back in the news with the launch of a subsidiary brand – Hafury. The Shenzhen-based company made the news live with the launch of the Hafury UMax, a 6-inch phablet with support for only 2G and 3G.
According to the press release, Hafury will also be based in Shenzhen, China but has its own factory and R&D centers. The brand will focus on cost-effective products starting with the Hafury Umax. Moving to the specs, it has a plastic body build, a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), 2.5D curved glass screen and a 4500mAh battery capacity.
On the inside, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD. The device features a rear facing 13MP camera with dual-tone LED flash and 5-element lens with f/2.0 aperture alongside a front facing 5MP selfie camera.
The Hafury Umax measures 166.1 x 84 x 9.8 mm in dimensions and boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS. There is no information on pricing but it is available in Black or Gold colour options.
