Cubot has listed up a new Android Marshmallow OS powered low end device – the Cubot Rainbow. Unlike the Rainbow which has seven colours, the device will arrive in Black, Red, Gold, Silver and White colour options. No official word on pricing but it is expected to go official after the Cubot Dinosaur.
Packed in a plastic body build, the Cubot Rainbow has Dual SIM slots (Micro + Micro), sports a 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, pixel density of 294 ppi, measures 142 x 72 x 8.8mm in dimensions and is backed by a moderate 2200mAh battery which comes with the normal 5V/1A charger.
Under the hood, the device relies on a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card (TF) slot for expansion.
For photography, there is a front facing 2-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash. The Cubot Rainbow supports 2G and 3G networks as well as includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, GPS/AGPS and HotKnot connectivity options.
